Leverage your investment in your current ERP solution by adding VSM as your window and door configurator. VSM’s BOM Elements is a scaled down version of the complete BOM module. It adds a visual, easy to use, and more importantly quick to setup, visual configurator to existing software. With low licensing and implementation costs, VSM accelerates the Return On Investment on the ERP solutions. The BOM elements module provides detailed information about the elements of the window or door, including Overall size for Brick-moulds and Jamb Extensions, coupler size, frame size, mullion size and positions for screw locations, sash size, glass size and detailed grid cutting and notching information. VSM BOM elements does not create a complete BOM, it is used primarily to interface to 3rd party manufacturing software and grid cutting machinery, such as the Intercept tm line.

  • Overall sizes with details of each required length.

  • Frame part sizes (all sides) with cutting angles and radii for bending
  • Details of Mullion positions (center point)

  • Frame Opening Sizes

  • Glass and Day Light opening Sizes and cutting details

How it works?

  • Menu driven rule based system ensure fast and user friendly setup
  • The Rules allow users to define aspects of the window design such as profile dimensions and clearances.
  • The rules engine applies the above rules to the designed product, and tests on the product parameters including product type, sizes, glass, grids and other options.
  • The tests ensure ensure that the design is accurate, to scale, and that all overall, frame, sash, glass and day light opening sizes are calculated correctly
  • The Grid Configurator ensures alignment between the different types of windows, and stores all cutting and notching information including bending radii
  • The information stored in the database is then used for ERP integration, where the complete BOM is calculated.
  • Since all the BOM elements (Overall, Frame, Mullion, Sash, Glass and Grid sizes) are calculated by VSM and stored in the DB, the actual BOM setup in the ERP solution becomes much simpler, faster, and easier to maintain.
