What is VSM Software?
VSM Software is the first of its kind software for the Window and Door Industry. We decided that our strength and 17 years of experience in the industry can be packaged in a simple yet powerful software tool; the result is VSM.
VSM is a Window and Door Configurator allowing the user to enter simple or complex elevations complete with scaled, engineering accurate designs, as well as accurate grid alignment even within complex elevations. It covers all functions from Quote Entry, Pricing, even complex customer specific price books, option specific discounts, as well as regional or time specific pricing and discounts. to generation Orders, Purchase Orders, and Interface to 3rd party accounting and ERP solutions for manufacturers.
VSM is primarily used as a Front End system at manufacturers who wish to enhance the order entry and simplify product configuration/BOM generation in their existing ERP solution, by Remote Salespeople of Manufacturers, by Dealers and their Remote Salespeople. VSM interface between all users ensuring a 1 point Order entry and eliminating duplicate Quote and Order Entry. VSM also ensure that all items entered adhere to engineering and pricing rules, reducing, if not eliminating, the need to double check pricing and engineering rules.

We are using an ERP solution, can VSM work with it?
VSM is an Open system designed to leverage your current investment in ERP solutions. VSM uses 3 primary methods of interface: Triggers, XML files and Imbedded Application:
With Triggers, in simple terms, any change to the data in selected tables within VSM or the ERP solutions, "trigger" an automatic update in either or both systems. This is the most "sophisticated" and it provides a solid seamless interface.
With XML files, VSM sends Orders, Purchase Orders, Detailed Product sizes and specifications including Overall Accessory Sizes, Cutting Angles, Bending Radii, Frame Size, each Sash Size, each Glass Size, t-Mullion sizes, and Coupler sizes. In other words, all the information needed to enable the ERP solution pull the correct BOM information.
Imbedded Application implies VSM working within the ERP solution. This requires that the ERP solution be modified to add certain button that call VSM product configurator, and for VSM to store the data in the ERP solution Databases.
In any case VSM adds significant capabilities and features to any ERP solutions implemented at Window and Door Manufacturers, even those ERP solutions that are Window and Door Specific. VSM main advantage is its unique ability to very quickly and very efficiently configure complex products, thus simplifying the implementation and the on-going maintenance of complex ERP systems.

How hard is it to implement VSM, can we do it ourselves?
VSM is very easy to use and implement. Typically an inexperienced company can implement VSM within 3 weeks (15 days) including data setup and user training, with the proper dedication. Interfaces to ERP solutions and accounting packages usually require 2-3 weeks for implementation and may vary depending on the complexity of the interface.
